Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted by WebHostMost. Whenever a page is requested, the web server automatically records technical access data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer and browser identification. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The log files are kept by the host for a limited period and are not combined with other data.
Contact form
When you submit the contact form, your name, email address and message are transmitted to Web3Forms (web3forms.com) solely to deliver your message to me. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. Data is retained only as long as necessary to respond.
Journey map
The password-protected Journey page shows an interactive map. To display it, your browser loads the map library MapLibre GL JS from unpkg.com and map tiles from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org). Both providers receive your IP address and browser information in the process; this is technically unavoidable when loading content from their servers. Legal basis: legitimate interest in an interactive presentation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Other pages of this site load nothing from third-party servers; all fonts are hosted here.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. After you enter the Journey
password, one session cookie (PHPSESSID) keeps you signed in; it is strictly
necessary and is deleted when you close your browser. If you change the motion setting on the
Journey page, your browser's local storage remembers that choice. It stays on your device and is
never transmitted. Neither needs consent, because both only serve a function you actively use.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, use the contact form.
